Glen mailed me a speaker to bring with me to Thailand. I didn't know what it was for exactly but I found out it was definitely for a good cause :) he used it for service! He hooks it up to his iPad so it's much louder for the householders to hear out in the ministry! It worked perfectly!!! The Burmese family loved it!

———->>>>>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<<<<<<———

Today I woke up and was ready for a day full of service! my brain decided to get up super early (it’s still jet lagged… It’s not thinking straight 😉 ) so I made the most of it and relaxed in bed while I posted my Thai cooking blog and all the pics to go along with it! I got to Skype with my momma and FaceTime with my Justin! ☺️😘

After my super nice morning visits I finished getting ready for the day and Camille & I rode together to the Kingdom Hall to meet at 9:30am. We got to hall, had meeting for service and was put in groups! I had no idea what was going on but I just went with it! 😉 haha! Thai service, for territory especially, is done much differently. Instead of just having 4 people to a car that go their separate ways… Here in a Thailand everyone get on their motorbikes and drive together to the territory and work in big groups. I really like it that way, plus everyone knows there are witnesses in the area because they see a bunch of bikes all clustered together 😉

this morning I worked door to door with a sweet Austrian sister named Michelle. It was such an enjoyable morning! Her and her husband, Roman, have been here for 5 months and they love it! M and I hit it off really well, she said she wants me to be her English teacher and help her out 😉 As we were getting to know each other better, we helped each other with our Thai and then we found out that we are both dental assistant!☺️ She told me also, that Emily… Another friend I met here ( who I’m going to be going to Bangkok with tomorrow) is an assistant as well. It definitely is a good job for pioneers, it works perfectly with a part time work, and full time service schedule!!! Michelle And I found several people home, all very nice! Many Thai men and women will say they are Buddhist but that they like to talk with us and say we have a good heart! Pretty much everyone is willing to visit and will take the magazines or brochures… They are always extremely respectful even of they are not super interested, they appreciate what we do and why we do it. There culture is very hospitable and kind, inviting you to sit, getting you a cold drink… Making sure their guests are as comfortable and well taken care of as possible. We took a break when we came upon a little open oaf shop! We say water bottles for sale and made b line to them! All 12 of us rested a little while in the shade eating little snacks (which consisted of strange, yet really good, Thai candies) and lots of water!!! It was so much fun, hanging out and visiting with these dear brothers and sisters, I love how in just a small group of people you get a taste for the international brotherhood! There are ones from Thailand, Ausrtria, Australia, Spokane, Connecticut-with so many languages spoken also, French, Thai, English, Dutch! Anyone we came across, no matter where from…. we’d have the perfect person to witness to them! Not to mention, a thai elder and his 15 year old daughter know thai sign too! They were so excited when they found out I signed! It absolutely blows my mind that two people that speak two different languages, English and Thai, cam communicate using a third Logitech, Sign language! I think that is so extremely fascinating! I was with this family for a whole in the afternoon and they were so nice me helpful, helping Camille and I on our Thai by using sign language to help us understand what he was saying in Thai! I learned so much from both of the,! He wants us to help his daughter, B, to learn English, and she’ll help us out with our Thai so we made service plans for this morning! I’m really looking forward to it, she lets me practice my presentation with her and then helps me with pronunciation! She’s an awesome and patient teacher! 🙂

The morning seemed to fly by! Before I know it, it was noon and we made our way back to the car! We went back to the hall and sat outside enjoying the sun and practiced the Thai we had learned that morning! After awhile Camille and I walked to our friends apartment down the street… Ashley and Susi… And we all walked together to get lunch! We walked down the street a ways to local favorite! I got yellow curry with rice chicken and veggies! It was amazing!!!! We’re were raking picture of ourselves when the older Thai man that owned the food stand came over and asked if we wanted him to take our picture! The 4 of us posed and stood there frozen for what seemed like eternity! Camille kept saying through her smile, “ok, that good. Take the picture. Ummm, I think that’s enough!” I was cracking up, because he kept turning my iPad and taking more and more pictures! Haha! Once I finally got my iPad backs I checked to see what they looked like and saw he took 20 pictures! Haha! 20 identical pictures! Our facial expressions are priceless though! They are I differ t I each photo as we gradually start cracking up at the funny old Thai man!! I love them!!!

After lunch, Amy, Emily and I take off on our scooters and do some return visits! We also stop by immigration and health clinic to get the paperwork for our Thai drivers license that Emily and I are both going to be getting next week! Yaaaaay! I’m excited! It’ll be a really cool souvenir to being back home too! 🙂 we also went to the bus station and bought out bus ticket to Bangkok for early Friday morning ( we are going to visit bethel and sty the night and explore the next day!!!! Thats all the details you get for now but they’ll be more soon! 😉 ) A little after 5 we started to head to Amy’s study, a little 11 year old girl! She was adorable! The three of us went and had a great study! She only speaks Thai really (very little English) so Emily and I would ask questions and Amy would translate for us! The little girl asked us to come back next time and speak Thai with her so that’s what we are going to do! She kept asking where we are from, how old we are, and if we were married and had kids! She was so cute! 🙂 Amy said this would be a perfect for Emily and I whole we are here! Soooo….. Guess who has a bible study!!! I’m going to prepare with Emily, get some questions ready in Thai for the two chapters we are going to study in the bible stories book. My phones going to help too, with the Thai translator! 😉 it’s going to be awesome having a young person to study with because she talks slow and simply and is very patient and understanding! 🙂

After the study, Amy and I went back to he house and changed into comfy clothes and rated for a little bit from our long day! We drove the motorbike down to the store to store to pick up a couple Groceries and then stopped by the banana pancake man!!! Oh my, I’d heard about these but had no idea how amazingly delicious they were! We brought the treat back to the house and ate them, savory g each and every bite while played cards. First, we played one called Spite and Malice then a great game of nertz! Yaaaay Amy, and the rest of the girls, loves playing it too! Woot woot! Found myself some card buddies! 🙂 by the end of the game, it was pretty late so I changed into pjs, skyped my momma to say hi and crashed! Thankfully jet lag isn’t keeping me up all hours of the night! Hooray! I think I might have beaten it! 😀 alright I’ve gotta get ready for meeting tonight but I will talk to you all again very very soon!

All my love,
❤️ Meg

My First Thai Cooking Class!

image

I had my very first Thai cooking lesson!!! Yaaay! Something that I Wally want to do while I’m here is learn to cook thai food! I think I’ve found a grest teacher too! 🙂 a sweet Thai sister in hype congregation invited my roommates and I over to cook dinner with her. Alonna, Camille, Amy, Ashley and myself had a great time together! We came up with a pretty rockin menu too! We decided Green Curry with chicken with rice noodles and sweet sticky rice with fresh mango and coconut cream!. We also made another sweet dish, a Thai omelet steamed in a pumpkin. Then to round off the meal, Thai beer! 😉
First off through we went to one of the many many markets and got all our needed ingredients! We bought chicken, noodles, long beans, mangoes, herbs, onions, garlic, and veggies for the curry. If you want a bargain, markets are the way to go! We bought 4 mangoes for 15 baht each… 4 beyond delicious mangoes for only 2$! The market was loud, fast pace, and energetic! I saw all kinds of interesting things, pig heads, whole fired chickens, live eels, bugs, dried squid, etc. I really loved it despite the smell of stinky fish! 😝 we loaded our motorbikes with the groceries and drove back to the sisters house! We all got busy cooking away! We worked hard cutting, peeling, chopping, grinds, steaming, boiling and finally eating! Oh my goodness was it amazing! We were so proud of ourselves! it looked and tasted wonderful! We at around a great big table outside and visited and laughed, enjoying each others company! I have to say dessert was my very favorite part! Mmm mmmmmmm!!! The coconut sticky rise with mango… To die for! That’s definitely one I want to make at home and share with everybody! 🙂
After dinner we cleaned up after ourselves and listened to music and chatted more, got a little Thai dancing lesson in from the sister too! 😉 it was getting late and after being up so long that day I was about to crash. The jet lag was definitely hitting me hard! I knew I wanted to stay up during the day, not letting myself nap, so I would sleep good that night. And sleep good I did. I miiiiight have fallen asleep in her living room! Haha, I couldn’t help it, jet lag got he better of me! 😉 My body and mind had different plans for me! 😉 haha! We headed back home and I fell fast asleep right away, happy and full of the wonderful Thai good we made with love!❤️

Sending all my love.

My First Experience In A Japanese Bathroom…

Well this is a first! Haha!

Well this is a first! Haha!

image

Soooooooooo… I get off the plan in Toyko after flying over 10 hours and I had to… tinkle 😉 … like nobodies business. I go into the first restroom that I see! I wall into he stall, set down my backpack and firm around tot what do you ask?? We’ll, I’m sure you’d say a toilet, duh!!! hahaha oh no no! Not just ANY boring old toilet! oh no…. I find myself face to face with a bedet! despite having to pee like crazy, I find myself hesitating… My mind racing with all the different outcomes of sitting in this thing. I’m thinking, “does to start by itself? What if I don’t know how to turn it off? What if the spray goes out do control and starts spraying everywhere?” Oh you can imagine all he scenarios hat went through my head. Buuuuut. I had to go and this is what I had to work with. So, I sat… Very cautiously I might add, and looked to my right at a remote control looking device connected to the toilet. I couldn’t understand the Japanese but the diagrams helped me get the point! 😉 I sat there pondering… Do I want to try it!? Come on Megan, you have too! You don’t want to regret this opportunity!!! so, after my fingers hovered over the buttons, carefully deciding which I wanted to… Ummm experience… Haha, i closed my eyes and pressed It… Yahoooooo!!!! Oh my. It waaaaaaas am experience to say the least hahaha! I just kinda sat there with a very confused and quizzical expression on my face as it… Did its thing… I was like, ok… It’s not the most pleasant thing I’ve ever done but hey, I was proud of myself! After patting myself on the back… I thought “why is it still going. I’m pretty sure I’m all good now!”embarrassingly enough, I didn’t realize you had to press another button to turn it off. Ya, didn’t realize that until it had been gong at full force for several Minutes, but what seemed to like an eternity due to the somewhat frantic search for some sort of ‘Jet Stream Off’ swItch! In the end, I had learned something new, experienced something very very new and was fresh as a daisy. 😉🌸👍🚽 Japanese bedet: you gotta try it at least once in your life but know what your getting yourself into haha… and find the off button first! 😉 I learned the hard way! 😃

All my love,

Flyin’ in Style! ;) ~PDX-NARITA-BKK~

I’ve been on many airplane rides in my life and have become accustomed to regular planes… three seats on each side with one aisle down the middle. Which I thought was the case with All planes. I found out international flights are quite a bit more extravagant! the plane that took me to Tokyo than to Bangkok were not  the same ‘little planes’ that took me to Disneyland or even the one I took to New York when I was 12! These 747s were monsters, I’m talking three stories, 10 seats in width with two aisles & a max capacity of 376 people!!! It was quite a sight😳✈️Also, I’d never been on a flight long enough to warrant serving meals. as dhown in the pic I had teriyaki chicken with rice, salad, dinner roll, cookie and drink of choice. Then, a breakfast sandwich, fruit cup and OJ! I must say I had extremely low expectations of airplane good buuuuut I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was! (Delta Dinner = solid B+) I not only got dinner but an unlimited supply of movies, tv and music of my choice to go with it! That made my 18 hour flight much easier! All in all it was a great traveling experience… loooooong but easy and relaxing! 🙂

My fam helped me out so much in getting all my things together… making sure I had everything I’d need in order to travel internationally! Passport, Visa, International permits, hot tamales… The essentials!! And I’m happy to say it was all smooth sailing! Also, a huge thank you goes to my Justin for his wonderfully thoughtful plane care package! It definitely came in handy my love! Al, of it was perfect! ❤️😘 You know a girls gotta have her Mike & Ike’s… Megs little miracle pills!!! 😉 those alone made everything easier!!😉Image

You have taught me so much, I couldn’t be where I am today without you all. I truly have the most incredible family! I love you and I’ll miss you all so much! ❤️💗💖

And you… my absolutely amazing one of a kind boyfriend! My sweet Justin, you have brought such happiness into my life. You have given me all your love and support! With your sweet words, caring actions and big tight hugs I know I’ll always have you my best friend by my side, supporting me 100%! You… your spiritual and life goals, plans, dreams, determination and perseverance- are a true inspiration to me. You have set a remarkable example in reaching out to serve Jehovah to the full, showing complete willingness to be used wherever you’re needed. In all these ways you have been a source of great motivation for me, to accomplish my goal of traveling and reaching out in my service to Jehovah.
